ReplyDeleteIn reply Crescent Cricket teams openers made blasting reply making 95 runs of 10 overs at no loss, excellent batting by Muqtadeer and Anil, Deccan Star Mustafa did the star turn breaking the hundred run opening partnership when he bowled an excellent delivery a slow ball to Muqtadeer Crescent Cricket club giving an easy catch at long on.Rest of the Crescent Cricket team was all out for 155 runs loosing the match to Deccan Stars.
Sir Liyaquat and Cheetah Khaleel Ahmed set an great example in my opinion, what strategy must be used when we go to bat first , 201 on a turf wicket with slow bowlers is huge and definitely Winning score. it was best example to play at an steady pace, continuously moving the score board with cheeky and comfortable singles and doubles. Both Sir Liyaquat and Khaleel have kept the score moving with exemplary running between the wicket and punishing the loose deliveries to taste the boundary. We must apply this strategy always when we bat first andour target muct be 220 runs in 20 overs.
ReplyDeleteI missed it :(

ReplyDeleteI must add my two cents about this match that I was losing focus on but nevertheless enjoying. Everyone knew that Khaleel Ahmed gave us a splendid chance in the very next ball while he was still on zero. He was jogging on the pitch aiming to hit hard and trying to send the ball flying beyond the boundary, but he obviously missed the shot. Wicket keeper, Muqtadir had a clear opportunity to stump him out and that didn't happen either. He was enjoying the swing of the delivery and failed to concentrate on his job. The same mistake was repeated by skipper Sir Liyaqat. He would have been duck-out walking back to the pavilions straight after facing his second ball had the catch not been dropped by Osman, who in turn was busy cheering rather than fielding.
ReplyDeleteHis catches were dropped on two other instances after this and to add to our frustration, when he was finally bowled out, the umpire announced a no ball for stepping out of the crease.
Unlike the case with other skippers, I was not upset as I'd rather cherish the joy of the game.
This time around, luck favoured them while I thoroughly enjoyed their class.
what we enjoyed and cherished is the opening wicket partnership by crescent Cricket Club it was classy, stormy batting. It was very close they would have finished without loss. Both teams displayed what cricket is know for ,gentlemen game. Cricket fans would wish more and more matches between this these both teams iin the future
